I was reminded of Judy Garland’s version of “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” song this week. A MacLean’s article was touting the relevance of this 76 year old song to today’s pandemic world. See MacLeans
As the article notes, the original Judy version, from “Meet Me in St. Louis,” was a little more dreary than the Frank Sinatra version. Maybe dreary isn’t the right word – realistic, maybe? Whatever you might call it, it certainly suits the pandemic Christmas.
Someday soon we all will be together
If the fates allow
Until then, we’ll have to muddle through somehow
So have yourself a merry little Christmas now
and
Once again as in olden days
Happy golden days of yore
Faithful friends who were dear to us
Will be near to us once more
I’ve never been so happy to see a year end. So, I’m repeating some of my favourite videos and memes here to give you a chuckle as we close out 2020. Can’t wait for a few days to say – HINDSIGHT IS 2020!
Here’s hoping:
Next Year, All Our Troubles Will Be Out of Sight!
Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas.
And – Happy New Year!
C’mon 2021!
