There’s something magical about starting a river cruise in Paris. Before even stepping aboard the beautiful AmaDante, we soaked up every sparkling moment of the City of Light—and every buttery croissant.

At Hotel Le Bristol Paris, we were welcomed like royalty. A junior suite connecting to a second room gave us ample space to celebrate our graduate, Ciara—and the red carpet welcome included champagne, macarons, madeleines, and sweet Parisian flair. It set the tone for a trip rooted in joy. (see arrival )
Naturally, we made the Eiffel Tower our first stop—once, twice, and again. From standing at the summit gazing out over Paris rooftops to sipping café crème at a sidewalk café beneath her iron silhouette, the experience never lost its magic. (see Eiffel ). We paused at the Flame of Liberty, the poignant unofficial memorial to Princess Diana, and wandered the boutiques of Saint‑Germain‑des‑Prés before indulging in divine soufflés at Le Récamier. (see evening )
And then it was time. After one last dreamy room-service breakfast at Le Bristol (mimosas, pastries, and perfect light – see breakfast ), we boarded AmaDante docked near the Eiffel Tower—for a week of effortless travel. (see cafe )
In Les Andelys, we climbed to the ruins of Château Gaillard, Richard the Lionheart’s medieval fortress with sweeping views of the Seine (see Richard ). In Honfleur, we wandered cobbled streets and savoured handmade chocolates under a soft Normandy rain. The town’s name—”Honna’s stream”—hints at Viking origins and centuries of stories. (see Honfleur )
