I attended a great networking event with the “Ladies Who Lunch” in Ottawa on June 26th.
What a dynamo group organizer Catherine Landry is. Besides being a super-connector, and an event host extraordinaire, she gathered a room full of other connecting and supportive women.
The “Ladies Who Lunch” is a wonderful community, and it truly did feel like I had been welcomed into a “gathering of friends.” I was so glad I’d attended.
Besides enjoying the scrumptious meal prepared by Executive Chef John Morris of @CanadasNAC, and my networking and connecting with a fabulous group of women, I was very fortunate to meet Margaret Trudeau, as well as her daughter-in-law, Sophie Gregoire-Trudeau.
Sophie Gregoire-Trudeau was the luncheon speaker, and she read a fantastic poem. Here is part of her powerful message, sharing how all women are connected.
Before we were conceived, we existed in part as an egg in our mother’s ovary. All the eggs a woman will ever carry form in her ovaries while she is a four month old fetus in the womb of her mother. This means our cellular life as an egg begins in the womb of our grandmother. Each of us spent five months in our grandmother’s womb and she in turn formed within the womb of her grandmother. We vibrate to the rhythms of our mother’s blood before she herself is born. And this pulse is the thread of blood that runs all the way back through the grandmothers to the first mother. ~ Layne Redmond
