Hello from London! My family and I arrived yesterday, and we’re here another day as part of our weekend-add on to our Europe river cruise. I thought I’d share some ideas about visiting London.
I’ll have some info about London below – but – first tip for travelling to London (or elsewhere), is to arrange to have a private driver pick you up. My family loved the friendly and distinguished services of my Virtuoso Travel partners Sincerely Paul. who’d picked us up at the airport. What a stress-free and welcoming way to start our vacation (he’d even sent us a text as soon as we touched down, welcoming us to London!) My youngest also remarked on Sincerely Paul’s driver, James, too – “Mom, did you notice he was the only driver meeting people who was wearing a suit?” (Yes, little things matter!)
We had a charming young driver, James, who entertained us on the hour and a half drive (traffic!) from Gatwick to central London, sharing notes about what we were seeing, giving us tips about how best (and what to see in) London, letting us know about events happening in the city, and even sharing snippets about his growing up in Brazil and Argentina. It was fab.
