Sea Lions & More – Santiago Isla, Galapagos

In November, I was on a travel advisor familiarization trip with Adventures by Disney. We visited Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands.

We visited many of the islands, but I think my favourite was Santiago Island. The black rocks and sand, against the azure sky and ocean, and mother and child sea lions, intermixed with iguanas, was spectacular to take in.

We had a wet landing for our hiking, and everyone started from the beach for a 2 hour hike.

On Santiago Isla, you can see sea lions, fur sea lions, brown pelicans, oystercatchers, Galapagos hawks, mockingbirds, and Galapagos doves… along with flora of manzanillo, palo santo, salt bush, and opuntia cactus.

And we saw iguanas….

And- let’s not forget the blue footed booby!

Let me know if you’d like to go to the Galapagos to check it out in person!
