The Breakers, Palm Beach – Beach Supreme

The Breakers in Palm Beach is a fabulous Virtuoso property.  And… as their saying goes: “The Breakers is the Vacation of a Lifetime. At least once in your lifetime you have to stay at The Breakers Palm Beach.”

I’ve just had the opportunity to learn more about the property with my Virtuoso partner, Ivy Wong, as we explored putting a client’s family of 6 at this spectacular beach property.  I had the chance to learn more information about the layout and room set up of this property – and I  hope to be able to check it out in person soon.

But for now… here is some fantastic information on this supreme beach resort, to help you determine whether it might fit your family’s vacation.

The Breakers resort encompasses a total of 140 acres in the heart of Palm Beach, Florida. It features a 5-acre beachfront oasis with 5 sparkling oceanview pools & 4 whirlpool spas that offers the ultimate in beach front club.

The Breakers debuted in 1896, but it has reinvented itself as a unique destination resort for couples looking for romance, multi-generational family vacations, and just folks looking to have a special gathering.  The resort just completed a 4 year, $80 million renovation, warming up it’s decor, and bringing the outside inside.  The entire hotel has been redone.

The resort is an all encompassing family resort, and offers an exciting array of activities. The Family Entertainment Center features multiple playrooms, a 1,000 gallon saltwater aquarium, an arcade with a mix of 60 different classic & high-tech video games, and movie theater. Elsewhere on the resort property, they have an Active Pool which attracts many families & children, 2 championship 18-hole golf courses, 10 Har-Tru tennis courts, The Spa at The Breakers, as well as 11 on-site shopping boutiques.  The list is long.

The resort has also converted its former Tapestry Bar and L’Escalier restaurant to HMF. HMF’s interiors were conceived by internationally-renown hospitality designer Adam D. Tihany. The bar was named in honor of Henry Morrison Flagler, who originally founded the hotel in 1896. His heirs, the Kenan family, still own The Breakers to this day.  No reservations are accepted at HMF, however, so the spot is really busy at opening of 5 pm on.  (This opened right after Thanksgiving 2012.)

The private Beach Bungalows are available for daytime rental, and there are 25 available to guests.

The Breakers offers 4 room categories (Deluxe or Premium or Flagler Club [with choice of Resort or Partial Ocean views] and Oceanfront), as well as 13 categories of suites. Simple deluxe rooms accommodate a max of 2 in 300 square feet rooms – they are great for couples or singles. Premium rooms accommodate a max of 4 in 400 square feet rooms – good for families needing a little extra space. Oceanfront rooms accommodate a max of 4 in 460 square feet – these rooms face due east over the ocean, and all feature balconies. And the Flagler Club concierge rooms accommodate a max of 4, and are 300-400 square feet offering exclusive access to the hotel within a hotel.

Of course, The Breakers is a Virtuoso partner of mine. This means I can VIP my clients, and negotiate special amenities on their behalf. Virtuoso amenities include complimentary continental breakfast for 2 at the Circle or the Beach Club (which can be upgraded to full american for differential in cost), a $100 resort credit, and more.  (And my friend, Ivy Wong, at the resort will take excellent care of you!)

Let me know if you’d like to check out The Breakers for your next vacation!
