Vegas: Odds are, There's More than Gamblin'

What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas? Ok. Cliche. But cliches are popular for a reason.

Vegas and gamblin’ – pretty obvious association. But try a little harder. There’s more than gamblin’ in this city.

For example:

1.  Fans of the CSI show (the original, set in Las Vegas) can take the “CSI the experience” tour  http://www.vegas.com/attractions/on_the_strip/csi.html

2. There’s much to see and eat for foodies from fine dining to buffets. see http://www.vegas.com/restaurant/ and http://www.lasvegas-eating.com/  or http://www.lasvegasrestaurants.com/top10.cfm and http://www.lasvegasdirect.com/topbuffet.html

3. You can get married. Yes, weddings are big in Vegas. Get married by an Elvis impersonator at Viva Las Vegas Chapel, or marry like Frank and Ava at Little White Wedding Chapel. Or maybe be boring and choose a more traditional venue.  Vegas is still in the top lists for destination weddings too (they do over 100K weddings a year) See http://honeymoons.about.com/cs/wordsofwisdom/ht/LasVegasMarry.htm  and http://www.ehow.com/how_172888_married-las-vegas.html

4. Go see the Neon Museum – A neon museum from days of old Vegas. Great for photographers or nostalgia buffs. See  http://www.neonmuseum.org/

5. Check out the Stratosphere http://www.stratospherehotel.com/Tower The Stratosphere is the tallest tower, and besides having a casino, it offers the craziest rides. (Big Shot, X Scream & Insanity: the Ride)

6. Go see a show.  Ok – almost as cliche as the gambling, but definitely worth the trip just for this.  The magic of seeing “O” by Cirque du Soleil for the first time still remains my favourite show memory. See http://www.vegas.com/shows/    or http://www.bestofvegas.com/Shows-Tickets/ for a list of what’s playing.

Of course, your friendly neighbourhood travel advisor (ahem) can arrange all of this for you – and more!
