Peter Greenburg came to Vegas for CBS This Morning to cover Virtuoso’s Travel Week.
As he reports, some might write off travel in these days of questionable job numbers and rising gas prices. But the numbers say otherwise. Peter noted that this is one of the largest, most prestigious gatherings of the travel industry, taking place every August in Las Vegas. This is a serious B2B event where CEOS, ministers of tourism, ambassadors and some of the biggest travel agents in the world gather to do some pretty serious business.
By the end of the week, 4,000 hotel, airline and tourism CEOs will have had more than 300,000 meetings with travel advisors, resulting in $500 million in travel sales.
And I was one of the luxury travel advisors taking it all in, learning what was new in luxury travel, and how I can best work with my Virtuoso partners from around the globe to help orchestrate my clients’ travel dreams.
Luxury travel is back!
