Visit Canada – the GGs, Rocky Mountaineer, and More

Last night, my husband and I were invited guests of the Shangri-la Toronto hotel to attend the Governor General’s Performing Arts awards at the National Art’s Centre. It was a night that reaffirmed my pride in being Canadian. Here’s a couple of snaps. We had a lovely dinner with Christopher Ashby and his partner, as well as the GM of the Lord Elgin and his spouse. And, I met Rick Mercer, saw the Governor General, and saw Monique Bujold feted by James Cromwell, as well as heard Murray McLaughlin (and Tegan and Sara) sing. It was a wonderful evening.
Let’s focus on traveling around Canada. I’ll have some ideas below.
Of particular interest this week, is a travel info session I’m hosting in Ottawa with the Rocky Mountaineer on June 5th at 2 -4 pm. We’ll be meeting in Orleans at Occo Kitchen . Hope you can join us. Let me know for my head count. We’ll have some nibblies and coffee for attendees. See the facebook event I’ve created for the gathering here fb link and more info here .
Let me know if you’d like to attend!

Shangri-La Toronto

A Weekend Escape to Toronto

If you want to escape inside the city of Toronto, there is no better hotel than the Shangri-La.
Here’s some info from Virtuoso

Here’s a post about one of my family’s many visits.

And here’s a post/ testimonial from a client about the Shangri La going the extra marathon (not just a mile) to help a client.

Fogo Island Inn – Newfoundland

Summer Camp for Adults is So Worth the Trip!

A visit to Fogo Island Inn takes some planning, but it is so worth the trip!
I was just quoted in Virtuoso.com and Virtuoso Traveler magazine about Fogo being a summer camp for adults.  See https://www.virtuoso.com/articles/Virtuoso-Traveler/Virtuoso-Traveler-2018-June/Summer-Camps-for-Grown-Ups#.WxQR7UgvzIU
I also just had a client here last week.
When I checked in with her to see how everything was going, she gave me the best possible comments back:

Well, you know, no big deal.  Just incredible food, superior hospitality, whales playing outside my window, icebergs on shore. This has exceeded my every expectation. Thank you, thank you, thank you.”
Tempted?
