๐Ÿง  Step Away from the Laptop โ€“ Itโ€™s Good for Your Brain (and Your Soul)

Hello Lush Lifers!

A recent CNN article on LinkedIn caught my attention, and itโ€™s one I think every high-achiever should read:
๐Ÿ‘‰ Long working hours might not just be bad for your health โ€” they could also shrink your brain.

The research shows that working more than 55 hours a week for extended periods is linked to brain shrinkage and reduced cognitive function. Translation? Overwork doesnโ€™t just stress you out โ€” it could actually hurt your brain health.

So consider this your reminder: Rest isnโ€™t a luxury. Itโ€™s a necessity.
This May long weekend โ€” Canadaโ€™s unofficial kickoff to summer โ€” Iโ€™m encouraging all my clients and friends to step away from the screen and embrace the things that fill your cup:

๐ŸŒฟ Get outside. Garden, walk, or sit with a coffee in the sun.
๐Ÿ“ฝ๏ธ Watch something joyful. May I recommend Nonnas on Netflix? Itโ€™s a heartwarming, feel-good film that had me smiling the whole time.
๐ŸŒ Travel with intention. When you’re ready to plan your next restorative escape, I’m here to help you find a journey that nourishes you.

Speaking of travel…

Last week I had the honour of attending the TravelPulse Canada Readersโ€™ Choice Awards at the Four Seasons Toronto โ€” arriving in style by train and warmly welcomed with dinner by my friends at AmaWaterways.

What a night! From train tracks to travel trophies, we celebrated the best in Canadian travel โ€” and Ama went 4 for 4:
๐Ÿ† Best River Cruise Line
๐Ÿ† Best Culinary Program
๐Ÿ† Best Group Department
๐Ÿ† Best Sales Rep โ€“ congrats to my friend Neil Dudley!

I was also thrilled to see Oceania Cruises win Best Canadian Itinerary, and send kudos to Andrea Mendelsohn for her heartfelt write-in nomination. (Andrea โ€” you were robbed!)

So this weekend, take a break. Your brain (and your future self) will thank you. And when you’re ready to reset with a trip that inspires and restores โ€” letโ€™s plan something unforgettable, together.
