#4 Where Would You Like to Visit?
Do you have an idea of where you’d like to go, and what you’d like to see? That will often decide whether you do a river or an ocean cruise.
You’re certainly not going to get to the Galapagos on a river cruise (that’s a picture of me with a blue-footed booby!)
And you’re not going to get to Vienna on an ocean cruise.
Where do you want to go? Or at least go next? (There’s no reason you can’t do both, of course – and Viking even let’s you do a river and an ocean cruise in combination.)
River cruises
visit the European rivers of the Rhine, Danube, Seine, Douro,
etc; the Volga in Russia, the Yanztze in China, the Amazon in Peru, the Irrawaddy in Burma, the Chobe in Africa.
Ocean cruises
visit destinations like Panama Canal, Alaska, Galapagos, Hawaii, Tahiti, Baja, or Mediterranean; and you can do a transatlantic, a world cruise, or even circumnavigate Newfoundland or Iceland or Australia).
Where is it you would like to travel to?
