A Gentle Reminder to Come Back to Yourself
At a conference filled with ship tours, strategy sessions, and conversations about what’s next… the most powerful moment had nothing to do with business at all.
It was a pause.
A breath.
A reminder.
During a keynote, Elizabeth Gilbert spoke about something so many of us live with — that constant hum of anxiety. The need to plan, achieve, optimize, stay ahead. Always moving. Always thinking about what’s next.
And then she offered something simple, but not easy:
Slow down.
Come back to yourself.
Be here.
That message lands differently when you’re in a room of high performers — people who are used to doing, building, creating. It’s easy to forget that wellness isn’t just about spa days or time off. It’s about presence.
It’s about noticing.
After her talk, there was a brief moment to connect. A conversation about how one story can hold a thousand different meanings depending on who’s reading it — how each of us brings our own experiences, our own joys and struggles, to the same words.
And then, a small gesture.
A sticker pressed into a hand that simply said:
💛 “You are loved.” ![]()
Maybe it’s something she shares often.
Maybe it’s part of her routine.
But that’s the thing about wellness — it’s often not the grand gestures that shift us.
It’s the small, unexpected moments that land exactly when we need them.
Have you read Elizabeth GIlbert’s books? Eat, Pray, Love and All the Way to the River are very different, but kinda not at the same time. Give ’em a read.
🌿 Your Wellness Takeaway This Week
Instead of adding more to your list, try this:
- Take one moment today to pause without reaching for your phone
- Notice where you are — the light, the sounds, the feeling of being here
- Let yourself arrive, even if just for a minute
Because sometimes, the most powerful reset isn’t a vacation…
It’s a return to yourself. ❤️
