Yes, I traveled to the Galapagos with my copy of The Origin of the Species in hand. Hand to grab it as a prop for a picture at the Charles Darwin Research Station. Certainly put my reading into my perspective very quickly!
It was inspiring to learn about Charles Darwin while I was in the Galapagos. Where else could you learn about the man… and all of the species he’d studied.
And shortly after arriving on Baltra on North Seymour Isla, and catching the ferry and taking the bus while on Santa Cruz Isla in the Galapagos, we knew we were not in Kansas anymore, Dorothy!
And yes – we saw tortoises!
