Come From Away

As you likely know, I’m a proud Newfoundlander.

And as an ex-pat Newfoundlander, nothing made me more proud than to watch “Come From Away” on Apple TV this weekend.

My adopted home of Ottawa has been hurting and suffering intensely this past week. My adopted city of Ottawa is really in shock. We’ve had extremists and hatred filling our downtown core. I pray for a peaceful resolution.

So, watching (or re-watching) “Come From Away” was a welcome reprieve to the news.

I encourage you to watch the movie. It’s fantastic and uplifting about a terribly dark time in the world.

It’ll bring hope.

I hope you take an hour and a half to watch it.

It is mesmerizing in its theatrical blocking and simplicity, the multitude of characters, and, of course, the infectious songs.

And – it’s all true!

I’m proud to be from Newfoundland.

So much so, that I want to encourage my clients and friends to join me in travelling to Newfoundland.

I am taking two groups to Newfoundland on a motor coach tour from Corner Brook to St. John’s – one in September 2022 that has a couple of rooms left. And then I’m doing almost the same trip again in May 2023 that is going during the iceberg festival time. Let me know if you’d like to join me!

I also am just putting together a group to do a Seabourn cruise in September 22-October 4,2022 that is a Canadian Autumn getaway – and – it focuses on Newfoundland – and the really cool thing is that it is largely a Canadian port getaway and you don’t need to purchase air or travel to the US.
