And IT millionaire Zita Cobb’s return to her hometown of Fogo to build this fantastic property has people applauding all over. This week, Zita was awarded an honourary doctorate from my alma mater, Memorial University, for her social entrepreneurship (read news article). You can also see the CBC News video.
This week, June 3-7th, there remains a spot for one couple on a fabulous photography workshop at Fogo Island Inn. See details about this fabulous opportunity this week – full itinerary here. Fogo Island Inn Photography Tour .
I was late learning about this tour (which had been a private tour put together by another travel advisor, but was later opened up to all interested when there were some remaining spots.) I learned about this tour last weekend, and booked it for a client from Ottawa. This week, I’ve let oodles of my clients know about this trip, and the remaining spot for another couple. Almost to a person, everyone is drawn to the tour and the locale – yet, work/ family/ personal lives are colluding against folks jumping in to fill this last spot.
If you have an interest in a photography workshop at this unique and award-winning Newfoundland hotel, please don’t delay. Contact me. The photographer leading the workshop is named Alex Fradkin – he teaches photography in Manhattan (so, he is quite familiar with teaching beginners and intermediaries, and is very patient); and Mr. Fradkin’s work is displayed over the www.fogoislandinn.com website (he has taken many of the hotel’s website photos, so he knows well the lighting and environment issues of this unique property; and can assist more technical photographers as well.)
Besides the fact that you get to have a photography workshop in addition to staying at this wonderful world-class hotel, it’s also iceberg season.
Here’s a shot that CBC News posted on their facebook page this week – this is an example of some of the iceberg shots you might possibly be able to take. credits here and here
