I just attended a breakfast with the Kenyan High Commission, with special guest Kenyan MP, and world class marathoner, Wesley Korir, in attendance. It was great to learn more about this country.
For example, 30,000 Canadians now visit Kenya each year.
Here are some of the demographics of those who visit.
It’s great to see how Kenya is becoming popular
with families travelling too. There is so much to see and do –
and Kenya offers great value for money.
I certainly knew you could see the Big Five in Kenya, but I really hadn’t given much thought to the popularity of bird watching there. Who knew?
Course, Wesley, who is married to a Canadian marathoner who also trains in Kenya now, says that the secret to becoming a good runner is to move to Kenya.
Maybe I’ll just pose with him for a photo, and cheer him on from the sidelines on Sunday – but – I do believe a trip to Kenya should be in my future travel plans!
