Sustainability tourism is on the rise.
After a fab morning meeting with Elmwood students, I was interviewed with Ashish Sanghrajka on Daytime Ottawa about why sustainability tourism should matter when you travel.
We followed up our energizing morning with two client events in Ottawa – one focused on sustainable tourism to Latin America, and another focused on sustainable tourism to Africa.
We had some competition (namely an Ottawa Senator’s playoff hockey game, and an unfortunate gas leak in the downtown Ottawa core that snarled traffic incredibly for several hours.) But the hardy who trekked to the west end golf course were rewarded with two wonderful talks. Everyone was entertained by Ashish’s passionate talks.
I’m so pumped about learning more and helping to promote sustainable tourism. It’s really neat that 2017 has been named the International Year for Sustainable Tourism Development by the United Nations. See
I’ve also been invited to be a panelist for an Ottawa presentation about sustainability, and why “sense of place” is important. If you’d in Ottawa and free May 13th, come out to the Ottawa library to hear me!
