More of What You Need to Thrive

Happy Thanksgiving! (At least if you’re in Canada!)
Wow, I’m thankful for so many things – family, friends, food, and comfort.
We’ve survived (and/or at least are continuing to survive) CoVid and the great resignation. It’s been a brutal 2.5 years. We’ve lost so many.

We’re all burnt out, and I feel we’re all finally coming to a place where we want to reclaim out power – and put ourselves back on the path. Whatever that is, and however that’s right for you and your family.

For me, the pandemic seemed all about coping and surviving, but now I want to thrive again. And I’m hearing that message from clients too.

It’s like we were all living through Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. We had to meet our physiological and safety needs first , then belonging and love, and now comes esteem etc. I think we have to give ourselves permission to keep moving up the hierarchy.

Maybe practicing gratitude is the best place of all to start. Happy Thanksgiving, indeed!

And after giving thanks, we can then think about what it is we need more of to thrive.

For me, that’s travel.

How can you get more of what you need to thrive from travel?

There’s a lot to be said for being away from our work and responsibilities. Learning new skills. Thinking new thoughts. And immersing yourself in a new part of the world.

Maybe it’s also a time to incorporate a hotel spa visit along the way. It could be the first step towards taking care of ourselves more – and taking just a few moments for yourself.

Maybe it’s time to think about a wellness retreat after that?

Who knows, maybe even a fitness camp comes after that?

Maybe a spiritual retreat next.

If we think of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs as being what we need to do for ourselves and our wellness journey.

Now it’s time to focus on more of what you need to thrive again.

Is it time to HIT REFRESH?  I have some other ideas, with even looking at refreshing during a cruise or with a hotel stay.
